The building of Lajes do Pico Tourism Office, inaugurated on June 29th, 2019, is designed by the architect Carlos Sousa Dias, and is located in the Whalers Museum Square. Establishing a relationship between traditional and modern architecture, in addition to the Tourism Office, and the Public Sanitary facilities, it also integrates a restaurant area close to the Whalers Museum, the sea, and with a unique landscape overlooking the mountain.
As far as the architecture is concerned, the design of the spans stands out, with the usual volumetry of typical warehouses, which are located next to the seaports, where the linearity of the façades contrasts and stands out through small details of spans and gable roofs.
The Lajes do Pico Tourism Office offers all the tourist information you need for your stay in the county, island or region. In this shop, regional products can be purchased (handicrafts and others), and it also has a bookshop section with books about the county, the island, and the archipelago, as well as the main Portuguese publishers.
